I attended a networking function last week in San Anselmo. One of the fabulous gals I met was Kim Kunkel, owner of
der Keller Furniture in San Rafael.
She owns the store with her husband Rob. They sell furniture and accessories from local artists, woodworkers, metal smiths, photographers, and sculptures. They have some amazing and beautiful pieces. I was really impressed with what I saw.
It's the kind of store where you walk in and go "Oh, wow. That is cool. Oh, and look at that." Everywhere you look you see something unique and beautiful. I love places like that. I didn't want to buy just one thing. I wanted lots of things.
A neighbor walked in while we were talking to Kim. She looked around then said "Thank you so much for opening up here. Your store is beautiful. Thank you." She was grinning ear to ear. The store made her proud of her neighborhood. You could just feel it. And she made all of us smile.

I love their front doors!! |
Some of the tables are made by her very talented husband Rob. He creates the table tops from old reclaimed redwood. The line is called
The Cal Park Line. All of the wood is reclaimed from the Cal Park Hill Tunnel project. You can read more about it on their blog
here. Pieces range in price from $320 for a side table to $950 for a large coffee table.
Check out some of their other pieces. I'm in love with this wall piece. Now I just need a bigger house.

My favorite here? The custom railing and those fab leaves. |

Mother's day is just around the corner.... |

....and they have lots of great gift ideas. |

Beautiful clean lines. |
Her shop is a must see if you're in the market for something new and beautiful for your home. It's right next to The Wooden Duck on 4th Street and there is free street parking.
You might even see some custom pieces from Pollin's someday. I'll keep you posted. In the meantime, give Kim a visit. You won't be disappointed.
